This tour includes the undiscovered Mount. Abune Yosef, the 3rd highest massif in Ethiopia, a home for the endemic wild animals like: Gelada Baboons, Simien Wolf, and birds. Also the famous cave church of Yimrehane Kirsos, which is built even before the 11 rock hewn churches in found in Lalibela town.

DAY ONE:
Your guide will pick you up at 7am from your hotel.
From there directly you will start your trekking tour to right in the beautiful LASTA MOUNTAINS.
Around 3 hours later you stand on the of the plateau MERABABU (LALIBELA HUDAD). From the plateau you walk to the escarpment village of AD MEDHANE ALEM (ATABKIT).
You will be introduced to a farmers family, enjoy the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony and hopefully still have a bit of time left before it gets dark, so you can walk around and have your first impression of an Ethiopian farmers life.
DAY TWO:
After breakfast you start a shorter trek this day (around3-4 hours) to Abune Yosef Eco Lodge on WEDEBIYE ABO, close to the village called TIGU KEBELE.
Later after check-in go checking out the village, see how the locals work, taking part on their daily things to do.
In the evening you will sit around the fireplace outside/inside the lodge and enjoy your dinner…
DAY THREE:
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and off you go! To see the famous Gelada Baboons, which live in huge hordes there.
We will take you to the other side of the mountains, where you have the most impressive view over mountains, mountains and mountains… it feels like being on top of the world.
You also will wander to the SMALL and BIG ZIGGITS, and RIM GEDEL (4284mtr).
The night you will spend in Abune Yosef Eco Lodge.
DAY FOUR:
After breakfast you start your hike from the lodge to the also famous and truly beautiful church of YEMREHANE KRISTOS.
The hike is not steep and it mainly goes downhill till the church.
The night there will be spent in a local traditional house.
DAY FIVE:
Trekking back to Lalibela after a breakfast.
You will reach town in the late afternoon.
You also can choose to drive back from Yemrehane with a 4WD-
