DAY 2: CITY TOUR IN ADDIS ABABA

full day tour, including the National, the Ethnological Museum and Holy Trinity Cathedral.

DAY3: FLIGHT TO BAHIR DAR & CITY TOUR IN BAHIR DAR
early flight, transfer to the hotel

boat trip on lake Tana to 2 different island and it’s monasteries, boat tour for checking on Hippopotamuses, afternoon drive/short hike to the Blue Nile Falls

Overnight: at Hotel, Bahir Dar

 

DAY 4: DRIVE TO & CITY TOUR IN GONDAR
car drive to Gondar (3-4 hours), transfer to the hotel, half day tour to the World Heritage castles and royal baths and the church of Debre Birhan Selassie

DAY 5: GONDAR - DEBARK - SANKABER
drive to Debark (3000m, 2 hours, entrance of Simien National Park) collecting permits/ cook/scouts, drive to Sankaber (3200m, 1 hour), short hike (2 - 3 hours) first impressive views over the dramatic mountains range, arrival at the camp

 

Overnight: camping, Sankaber camp

 

DAY 6: SANKABER - GEECH

hike to Geech 5 - 6 hours (3600m, 13 km), climb of Mount Kedadit (3760m) for an unforgettable sunset

 

Overnight: camping, Geech campsite

 

DAY 7: GEECH - CHENEK

hike to Chenek (3600m, 6-7 hours, 17km), including peak of Imet Gogo (3,926m) and peak Inatye (4,070m)

 

Overnight: camping, Chenek campsite

 

DAY 8: CHENEK - BWAHIT - CHENEK - GONDAR

4 - 5 hours of hiking (13 km), including Pass Bwahit (4,200m), depending on physical conditions also peak of Ras Bwahit (4,430m), back to Chenek, transfer to Gondar

DAY 9: FLIGHT TO LALIBELA
early flight, transfer to Hotel, time for resting, possible excursion/easy walk of Lalibela town

DAY 10: FULL DAY LALIBELA WORLD HERITAGE CHURCHES TOUR

Morning till mid-day: visiting the north-western cluster of churches -Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha.

afternoon: visiting the south- eastern cluster of churches –Bet Gabriel Rafael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Emanuel, and Bet Abba Libanos and Bet Giyorgis

DAY 11: TREKKING LALIBELA TOWN - AD MEDHANE ALEM ESCARPMENT

early trekking start to Abune Yoseph Massive via plateau MERABARBU

to AD MEDHANE ALEM VILLAGE (6 hours, 3600m), near ASTABIR

meeting of your Ethiopian Highlander guest family

exploring the village, take part in the activities of the locals

bonfire and Dinner under the stars.

DAY 12: AD MEDHANE ALEM – WEDEBYE ABO - ZIGGIT AND RIM GEDEL PEAKS
trek to our lodge close to the village TIGU KEBELE (3-4 hours, approx 4000m)

-hike to the SMALL and BIG ZIGGIT, trek to RIM GEDEL (4284mtr) , visit of village Tigu Kebele (3-4 hours)

-or joining the daily activities of the locals in TIGU KEBELE, no further hike to ZIGGIT/RIM GEDEL

 

Overnight: company lodge- traditional Ethiopian round stone hut near TIGU KEBELE, ABUNE YOSEPH MASSIV

 

DAY 13: WEDEBYE ABO – YEMREHANE KRISTOS – LALIBELA TOWN

hike to YEMREHANE KRISTOS church (5 hours)

visit of the church,

drive 42 km to Lalibela town.

DAY 14: TRANSFER TO LALIBELA AIRPORT FOR YOU FLIGHT TO ADDIS ABABA WHERE YOU DEPART ON A FLIGHT TO HOME
