This tour includes the undiscovered Mount. Abune Yosef, the 3rd highest massif in Ethiopia, a home for the endemic wild animals like:  Gelada Baboons, Simien Wolf, and birds. Also the famous cave church of Yimrehane Kirsos, which is built even before the 11 rock hewn churches in found in Lalibela town.

Lalibela/ Lalibela

DAY ONE:

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 7.30ish.

From there directly your hike starts.
Very soon Lalibela stretches underneath your feet and you are already in the beautiful LASTA MOUNTAINS. After around 3hrs you will reach the first plateau above ABI JACULA called MERABARBU. There you will have long break and lunch.

The trek continues in the direction to the next plateau called AD MEHANE ALEM (ATABKIT),

From Ad Medhane Alem (Atabkit) plateau you  will continue to walk towards the AD MEDHANE ALEM VILLAGE, NEAR ASTABIR, your 'home' for tonight.

Lalibela Hudad

DAY TWO:

After breakfast you start a shorter trek this day (around3-4 hours) to our Abune Yosef Eco Lodge on WEDEBIYE ABO.

You will have lunch and later hike to the SMALL ZIGITS and to a very top of the highest mountain here, called RIM GEDEL (4284mtr).

The night you will spend in Abune Yosef Eco Lodge.

DAY THREE:

After an open-air breakfast with a breath taking view you start your hike from the lodge to the also famous and truly beautiful church of YEMREHANE KRISTOS.

The hike to Yemrehane takes around 5 hours.

There you have the chance to visit the church. The night there will be spent in a local traditional house. The bonfire will again warm you before falling asleep.

DAY FOUR:

 After breakfast your hike towards Lalibela begins (around 8 hrs)

You cross the plateau DAGOSACH, where you find many small farmer villages.

From there you go down to the valley of MEDAGE, the fruit and vegetable supplier of Lalibela.

 

You also can choose to drive back from Yemrehane with a 4WD.

-Closed, comfortable shoes (trekking shoes)

- Sun protection (strong suns-cream 50+) and hat

-Jacket, Jumper, long pants, and Shors
