WHAT KIND OF WEATHER CAN I EXPECT?

in Lalibela

Ethiopia lays close to the Equator, meaning the weather doesn't change too much during the whole year. Lalibelas year has 2 seasons: from September till May it's DRY SEASON, from June till August it's RAINY SEASON. The best time to experience Ethiopia is from September till December. Also the rest of the year it's possible to visit and to trek, there just might be some rain sometimes, but it DOESN'T rain the whole day, even not every day. If you come in rainy season you will be very much surprised how green our country can be, you will see waving grainfields, fat cows, lots of flowers- it's simply beautiful Temperatures: vary from around 15 degrees at night in dry season it may go down to 5 degrees. Daytime temperatures for September- May can change from 18-28 degrees, from June to August it's around 15- 22 degrees. Since Lalibela is quite high the sun can burn- either if it's a bit colder or hot. 1 to 2 hours on the opened market will bestow you with a nicely hurting sunburn if you have not used a proper sunscreen and hat! It’s also always smart having a good wind jacket with you
