Trekking in the highlands of Ethiopia in order to meet the true Ethiopian means sharing their 'luxury'. Ethiopia is not well known for it's prosperity but for it’s traditions and uniqueness and that is what we would like to bring close to you. If you do the home- stay with the locals, it will be very much 'back to the roots'- no bathroom at all, no flushing toilet. Our company huts is more comfortable, but still not a 5 star accomodation, it’s not our aim to spoil you like in a resort with spa and massage (although a massage you will have: a foot-massage!) Your own cook is coming with you, we will bring food from Lalibela and you also have the opportunity to share the meals of the local families

Genna (Christmas) in Lalibela is always celebrated by thousands of pilgrims who came from all corner of the country. Some of them even walk for more than a month to reach this holy town, believing their sin to be forgiven if they made it on foot. From the 4th - the 8th the churches are full of Pilgrims. On the 5th January there will be a big overnight service taking place in Bete Emanuel church, and on the 6th night to the 7th January morning the colour full Gena will be celebrated at Bete Mariam church. Anyone can attend both overnight festivals.
